The First Tee of Pittsburgh (TFTP) is currently operating at the former Ohioview Acres housing development site, now known as Pleasant Ridge. As part of the Ohioview Acres HOPE IV revitalization, the ACHA has partnered with TFTP to develop a golf facility at Pleasant Ridge.
The new facility is a 3-hole par 3 golf course with a large practice putting green. There is also indoor program space with golf simulators in the renovated community building. The program is open to all children ages 7-18 years old that reside in the Pleasant Ridge housing development as well as the children in entire Sto-Ken-Rox area.
The ultimate goal of TFTP is to help children become better students, siblings, friends, employees, and citizens. The mission is fulfilled by an extensive curriculum that takes children through 9 core values and 24 life skill lessons. The nine core values taught by TFTP are: honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy, and judgement.
