Nick Redondo, Walmart employee and TFTP coach Greg Flynn and TFTP's Kirk Thoma at the kickoff event for the Walmart First Tee Open.

The First Tee of Pittsburgh will be represented at the Walmart First Tee Open at Pebble Beach, California by two teen golfers from our chapter.  Nick Redondo (playing with Fulton Allem) and Evan Myer, (playing with Allen Doyle), will have the once-in-a-lifetime thrill of playing in a Champion Tour PGA event.

The Pittsburgh chapter is a national leader in successfully submitting our participants for many First Tee programs.

is named an RBS Achiever of the Year.  Donnie received a
proclamation from Pittsburgh City Council President Doug Shields.

The First Tee of Pittsburgh continues to excel within our national network in successfully submitting our Pittsburgh participants for national opportunities.  We are very proud of Evan Meyer and Nick Redondo who have selected to play at the 2009 Walmart Open at Pebble Beach, a Champions Tour event.  This year so far . . . .

The First Tee Life Skills Experience

img

The First Tee Life Skills Experience is one of the unique features that differentiates The First Tee from many other successful junior golf programs.  Through the Life Skills Experience, participants learn valuable lessons about the importance of maintaining a positive attitude; how to make decisions by thinking about the possible consequences and how to define and set goals from the golf course to everyday life.
The First Tee Certification Process

img

The First Tee wants everyone who completes The First Tee Experience to have acquired basic golf skills and to be able to demonstrate certain fundamental life skill concepts – such as interpersonal communication and the importance of rules and etiquette.
The First Tee Coach

img

The First Tee Coach Program is an educational training program that prepares staff and volunteers at Chapters of The First Tee to deliver The First Tee Life Skills Experience, which includes the TARGET program, as well as the Par, Birdie, Eagle and Ace levels of certification.
Assistant Coach Training
The First Tee Assistant Coach Training for individuals who want to be more involved with the ongoing coaching and mentoring of The First Tee participants at the Chapter level but may not be able to spend the time required to become recognized as a The First Tee Coach.
