About The First Tee of Pittsburgh

The First Tee is an international youth development organization introducing the game of golf and its inherent values to young people. Through after school and in school programs, we help shape the lives of young people from all walks of life by reinforcing values like integrity, respect and perseverance through the game of golf.

Golf is the only sport that allows participants to engage with others from many different backgrounds and skill levels. It can be played for life. At The First Tee facilities, golfers of all financial, ethnic, age and gender backgrounds come together to enjoy this wonderful game. Friendship and connections are formed. Children are mentored by elders, not only in golf, but also our Nine Core Values and Nine Healthy Habits curriculum.

The First Tee and its affiliates are sponsored by all major professional golf organizations, including the LPGA, PGA of America, PGA TOUR, USGA, and the Augusta National Golf Club.  Former President George Bush serves as Honorary Chairman.

The First Tee of Pittsburgh was the recipient of Golf Digest's Junior Achievement Award as the best program in the country. We welcome all of you who wish to be involved either as participants, volunteers, patrons, and teachers.
